Moisture barrier bags, (sometimes called foil bags, alufoil bags or Mylar bags), are one of the most effective packaging solutions on the market today to protect against corrosive damage caused by humidity, moisture, oxygen, salt spray, aromas, grease and other airborne contaminants. These materials are a low waste alternative to other rigid packaging options meaning less material ends up in a landfill.

All our bags are heat seal bags, made by fusing materials together with an industrial heat sealer. Some of our bags are available with a materials are also available with a zipper closure to make them reclosable moisture barrier bags.

Protect 470 Moisture Barrier Bags are made from MIL-PRF-131 Class 1 material and are certified to MIL-DTL-117 Type I Class E Style 1 specifications.  These bags protect contents from the damaging effects of moisture and oxygen.

  • Material WVTR less than .0005 grams per 100 square inches in 24 hours
  • Heat Seal Bags & Reclosable – Zipper Seal
  • Tear and Puncture Resistant

Protect 2000 Moisture Barrier Bags

Protect 2000 moisture barrier bags are ideal for protecting contents that need to be inspected during storage.  The military uses these bags to protect critical components, such as bearings, from corrosion. Protect 2000 material is certified to MIL-PRF-22191 Type 1 and bags are certified to MIL-DTL-117 Type I, Class E, Style 2.

  • Material structure is barrier film / laminate/ film / laminate/ HS film
  • Material is 5 mils thick
  • Material WVTR Less than .017 g per 100 square inches in 24 hours

These moisture barrier bags have layers that also provide protection from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).  This material also has anti-static properties, so it can be introduced into static sensitive environments without generating The material is certified to MIL-PRF-81705 Type 1 specifications, and bags are certified to MIL-DTL-117 Type I, Class F, Style 1 specifications.
