Helicopter cocooned in an AirProPak preservation kit

Airtelus France worked with Protective Packaging Corporation to preserve 21 H225 helicopters using AirProPak preservation kits. This helicopter preservation solution serves as an Airbus-approved cocooning method for long term storage of aircraft. AirProPak kits ensure that aircraft are protected from the damaging effects of corrosion, dust, debris, and airborne contaminants during storage.

The kits are comprised of several components such as specialized moisture barrier materials, desiccant, humidity indicating plugs, and a shrink-film outer cover. These materials and the unique cocooning process ward off corrosion for a minimum of five years.

Airbus sold several helicopters to Ukraine, and called on Airtelus to make needed upgrades to get them ready for their new owners.  Thanks to the AirProPak preservation kits, the H225s showed no signs of damage from being in storage.

Protective Packaging has preserved hundreds of helicopters around the globe using this packaging method and materials. All major helicopter manufacturers have approved this solution for long term storage.
