SMALL AIRCRAFT STORAGE
Protective Packaging worked closely with a commuter airline in Abeline, TX, to develop a solution for preserving aircraft during storage. Many of the commuter planes were being placed in long term storage and had to be prepared properly to prevent detetioration. The solution included placing the appropriate amount of desiccant in the plane to absorb interior moisture, then sealing all openings with Protect 100 (HD 100) moisture barrier material. Protect 100 was used to cover the passenger and cockpit windows. Inlet covers, mesh panels with adhesive backings, were used to keep bugs and birds out of small crevices. The planes tires were coverd with canvas wheel covers to protect them from ultraviolet rays during storage. Dozens of planes were secured for storage using this solution.
