Protective Packaging earned its safety stripes this last week as we performed at death defying heights while packaging a State Fair ride. Safety, being our upmost priority, was evident to all who saw us dangling from a crane New Years Eve as we succesfully protected the "skyrocket" from corrosion for the next year.

State Fair of Texas - On-site
Contrary to popular belief, not all rides travel the state fair routes as carney folklore narrates. Many of the large rides and equipment are left due to size, location, and cost. A certain "skyrocket" was left this year to ride out the four seasons until next year's fair. Rust was already begining to form by the time we arrived, so we had to spray the valves and engines down with VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) and place a specially designed cover over the sixty foot tower.
Our man made cover is reinforced by double threaded seams as well strapping and grommets to be roped for added strength and durability. The goal was to protect the ride from all conditions as well as be able to re-use the cover for years to come.
Strapped and clipped into the crane, PPC workers lifted the cover over the ride and fastened the material in less than two hours. Pictures a year from now should reveal the handy work of professionals.
