Using the right packaging materials is the primary step to ensuring the safety of your products. From moisture protection and static shielding to shrink wrap and damage control labeling, there are a myriad of factors to consider when it comes to industrial crating. Overlooking one of these steps is a sure-fire way to leave your products at risk for damage.
Initially founded to provide packaging solutions for the United States government and military, Protective Packaging Corporation has over a quarter century of experience in the field. Now also serving the commercial sector, we have provided our packaging expertise and products to many of the top corporations around the world. From complex weapons systems to small equipment parts, we work closely with our customers to ensure that their products are protected using the latest packaging materials available. Our shrink-wrap packaging systems are among some of our most innovative industrial crating approaches. We use a polyethylene film that is capable of covering even the largest or most irregularly shaped objects. This tight film essentially creates a protective shell that keeps its contents in a dry, controlled environment. Far more effective than simple tarps, this simple procedure provides excellent protection for crating or transportation.
Properly labeling a package is an often-overlooked aspect of industrial crating. At Protective Packaging Corporation we recommend the use of our Shockwatch® and Tiltwatch® programs. These color-changing stickers are affixed to containers, highlighting the importance of proper manipulation. Most importantly, if the package is mishandled, the sticker changes color, immediately alerting the recipient upon delivery.
