Moisture Barrier Bags

ALL OUR MOISTURE BARRIER BAGS ARE MADE TO ORDER

Moisture barrier bags, (also known as foil bags, alufoil bags or Mylar bags), are one of the most effective packaging solutions on the market today to protect against corrosive damage caused by humidity, moisture, oxygen, salt spray, aromas, grease and other airborne contaminants.

Mylar and Foil Bags

The general public associates Mylar with shiny, metalic-looking party balloons. However, Mylar in its original state contains no metal at all.  Mylar is DuPont’s brand name for a polyester film that is semi-transparent, light-weight, and flexible. Mylar is technically known as biaxially-oriented polyethylene terephthalate, or BoPET.

Tyvek Barrier Bags

As effective as a moisture barrier or static shielding bag may be, if the protective material is ripped or damaged, the product within can no longer be considered protected.

At Protective Packaging Corporation, we offer heavy-duty Tyvek moisture barrier bags with ESD shielding as an effective solution that covers most companies' needs. Tyvek is a revolutionary material that has been used in a number of applications for close to 50 years. Developed by the Dupont Company, it is made from very fine, high-density polyethylene fibers. To the touch, Tyvek feels like a combination of paper and fabric. Nevertheless, it is a multi-faceted material that is vapor permeable but water, chemical, puncture and tear resistant.
